Who makes the big bucks in WWE
Just last month he suspended WWE wrestler Titus O’Neil for daring to grab his arm during an episode of Monday Night Raw.
But it’s perhaps not as bloated as you think.
The one place you would expect McMahon to be numero uno is at his own company, but recent reports of the salaries of the WWE’s top earners reveal there are three executives who pull in higher wages than Mr McMahon.
According to the Stamford Advocate, the WWE’s compensation committee — which is chaired by Frank Riddick III, CEO of FloWorks International, a Houston-based pipe and valve supplier — recently awarded stock to employees Kevin Dunn, George Barrios and Michelle Wilson to push their total packages past what Mr McMahon receives.
Dunn, an executive producer, is the top earner at $4.8 million, followed by chief financial and strategy officer Barrios and chief revenue and marketing officer Wilson (both $4.5 million).
McMahon — who as the majority owner of the $1.2 billion company would hardly be worried about his salary — received a 37 per cent bump to $3.3 million.
Executive vice president of talent, live events and creative Paul Levesque receives $3.1 million — $1.7 million of which comes from his performances at WWE events under the “Triple H” persona.
The professional wrestling leader doesn’t publish the salaries of the rest of its wrestling talent.
Several publications have attempted to make estimated guesses about what the roster is paid, but there is little real evidence.
TMZ managed to get its hands on the divorce order of Randy Orton back in 2013, which revealed he was earning $291,666 US per month — or $3.5 million a year.
